tea time

Dress: Preen from earlier this season (but love this similar version from Asos here); Shoes: Steve Madden; Clutch: Olympia Le-Tan; Sunglasses: Celine

While I love donning the occasional shimmy worthy dress (see examples here and here), I always feel more like myself in something a bit more flared (and tea length). Sure, this may come at the groans/eye rolls of a few ex-boyfriends of mine, but hey, I like what I like. At the end of the day, that's all that really matters, anyway. ;)

I recently went to dinner with a few close girlfriends of mine (hey Helena, Alicia and Christine!) where we randomly started describing each other's signature style -- mainly because we were convincing Alicia that she really does have a killer one (have you seen her ankle boot collection?). When it came time for everyone to describe mine, I like to think they got it right, with it involving some sort of shoulder bearing midi length, full skirt dress and a killer heel. And the proof is in the pudding (here, here, and here).

Here are a few of my favorite tea length around the internet aisles these days:

  7. Tea length is so flattering without being overwhelming, especially on smaller frames. It let's you play with prints and paisley without looking like a blanket is smothering you!
