Basics can sometimes get a bad rap for being, well, too basic, but I think they make for the perfect opportunities to debut your more daring accessories. Case in point? These wrist cuffs recently turned ankle cuffs.

After this citrusy yellow outfit a couple weeks ago, I think it's safe to say I've found a new color I can't stop wearing! This, of course, only leads to me to busting out more colorful footwear as well, as evidenced by these tribal-esque Pronezas (another great sale find!).

Any colors you can't get enough of lately? My other color crush of the moment is mint green but I'm having a hard time finding it right now in stores. Any tips/leads?

Just wanted to share some quick snaps from my friends Irene and Charles' wedding last weekend at Maui's Olowalu Plantation House. Between the Pacific Ocean sunset, the darling design touches (I still cannot get over that cake!) and of course, how incredibly beautiful Irene looked, this was definitely an evening to remember.

I've been waiting for the perfect occasion to wear this Halston Heritage dress I scored at Crossroads a few months back (ahem, original tags on and all!) and admittedly, have been rather impatient with our finicky San Francisco weather.

Of course, when we decided to head out for a day of whale watching around the island of Molokini -- I figured this was my chance to stretch my resort-wear legs, figuratively speaking. The dress itself calls to mind some of my favorite glam ladies of yore (Bianca Jagger, Angelica Huston and naturally, Miss Bradshaw herself in the not-so-fortunate SATC sequel) but I think the earthy tone necklace and straw panama hat help ground it, fitting for a day out at sea. And naturally, I could just as easily see myself wearing this number with some strappy heels (heck, maybe even this pair) which is always a win in my book!

When the right pair of glitterati-worthy shoes comes along at an unbelievable price -- you pounce! After all was said and done, I'm talking a little over $200! ($200! I still have to pinch myself, even when typing it out!) For those of you in the San Francisco area, I highly recommend you check out Saks' consolidation sale going on right now. Luckily, I went in right before closing time last night and therefore only had time to try on ONE pair of shoes.

I must say getting to strut in some of the most gorgeous wedding dresses around is not a bad way to spend your Saturday. And this past Saturday, I got to do just that. This weekend's The Lab Event, a unique, off the beaten path approach to bridal fairs, was as beautiful and downright inspiring as I had hoped it to be -- not to mention, just plain fun! Armed with music, delicious snacks and, of course, plenty of wine smack dab in the middle of wine country, I had one of the best nights ever and I just want to thank the lovely gals behind this successful event for inviting me to join and walk the runway (in Sarah Seven dresses, no less!).

Still not convinced you can have fun at a bridal event? Well did I mention there was a confetti canon? No, I didn't? Well, there was a confetti canon. Or two. And. It. Was. Epic.

(I would expect no less, she is a Chanel brand ambassador after all!) Of course, combined with my love of matching suit separates, I am now on the hunt for the perfect boucle skirt suit, with this Topshop beauty at the top of my wish list.

As for the shoes? Well, I believe they speak for themselves.

Yes, after much debate and self-reflection, I chopped my hair off. About 12 inches to be exact. Only took me about a year to get enough guts to do it -- but if you know me, that's about par for the course.

My hairdresser, Deb, over at Devil's Hairhouse in the Mission (SF ladies and gents, I highly recommend this gal -- she knows her stuff!) was completely patient with me as I pulled up about 20 inspiration photos from my Pinterest folders. My top contenders were Arizona Muse and Alexa Chung on the shorter, more layered side and Vogue's Sylvana Ward Durret on the longer, blunter side. As you can see, we leaned more toward the shorter version, because it put me right over the mark to donate my hair, which I've always wanted to do.

While I'm still in a bit of scissor shock, I think it's starting to grow on me! Plus, I'm starting to see the beauty of earrings and strapless dresses in a whole new light. Isn't it amazing how hair can literally transform how you feel in certain accessories and necklines?

If you've read This Time Tomorrow for a while, you've probably come to notice that I'm not much of a flats kind of girl. It's not that I don't ever wear them, trust me, I have to with the hills in my neighborhood -- I just always feel much more put together and like myself, when I have a trusty pair of 4 inchers on (plus feeling taller never hurt anyone, right?). So when my coworkers suggested we try a fancy flats style challenge this week, I'll admit, I was a bit, well, stumped.

Until I remembered my smoking slippers that is! I scooped up these Steve Madden leopard smoking slippers right before I left for New York back in September so I'm glad they can finally make their overdue debut here on the blog. True to form, these flats are the unsung heroes of this blog (they've gotten me through some pretty rough times, namely weekend morning coffee runs when I don't want to dress up enough for their heeled counterparts).

Moral of the story? I think I may need to bring them out to play more often!

Style Rules with Rachel Zoe

If you follow me on Twitter, you may have seen a few tweets going back and forth alluding to a certain Rachel Zoe video. Well, no April Fool's joke here -- just a couple of short weeks ago, my good friend Heather of Heather in a Candy Shop and I were chosen to compete in Rachel Zoe's Style Rules competition, presented by LG Marquee.

The concept was simple -- a styling challenge to be completed under 90 minutes, with a budget of $200. But when you have a film crew following you as you frantically run around San Francisco in heels, trying to abide by Rachel's styling criteria AND worry if you have lipstick on your teeth -- the challenge was anything but simple!

All in all though, I had a blast hanging with an amazing film crew, getting to chat with Rachel Zoe (!!!) a few times on the phone and, of course, goofing around with Heather! Enough of me blabbing away though, right? On to the show! Hope you enjoy the video!

But how to organize it without overloading my bookmark bar and inevitably crashing my computer? (True story, actually.)

Cue Bloglovin'.

Bloglovin', which you guys undoubtedly don't need me to tell you about it, is a great way to keep track of and read all your favorite blogs in one central place. Added bonus: you only receive updates when something new is posted, thereby taking a lot of the guesswork out of checking blogs on a daily basis. What I really love though? Back in September, my lovely coworkers, Rebecca, Meghan and I attended the Lucky Fabb Conference in NYC where we were gifted these adorably functional Sorel boots. Of course, we all immediately started planning our cabin getaways where we would style these for a romp through the snow and chopping down Christmas trees -- but figured it would be even more fun to challenge ourselves to see how we would incorporate them into our normal work attire. Not being much of a function first kind of gal when it comes to shoes (I just love crazy heels too much!), I have to admit, I'm rather hooked on these guys and believe me, these will be the first thing I pack when I do head up to Tahoe in a few short weeks!

As someone who has just recently begun to grow out her bangs, I'm the first to admit I had grown accustomed to being pretty hands off about my eyebrow upkeep (read: downright lazy -- hey, they were tucked behind some heavy fringe after all). Luckily while I was in New York for Fashion Week a couple of months back now, Kim and I had the chance to visit the kind and knowledgable folks over at Shobha, to whip me back into tip-top eyebrow shape.

Not only was the experience all together painless (I had my doubts about threading, trust me) but their staff was very quick to explain everything in detail, step by step to help me better understand how to literally frame my face with a few, very simple eyebrow shaping tips. This being my first threading appointment, I can safely say I'll be on the hunt for a good salon in my neck of the woods in San Francisco (and, of course, visit Shobha when I'm back in NYC)!

Huge thanks to Heather from Shobha for inviting Kim and I out. Amazing how a little pampering goes a long way, right?

You all know I have a penchant for colored (and patterened) trousers (ok, borderline obsession) but surprisingly enough, until recently, I didn't own a single pair of colored denim. That's why I was exited to try out this J. Brand pair (via the Lucky Fabb conference back in September) and fell in love for two main reasons: 1.) the terra cotta color is reminiscent of pumpkin spice (always a win in my book and perfect for fall color pairings) and 2.) transitions nicely for more of a weekend vibe, more so than their trouser counterparts.

This got me thinking: I've been missing out this whole time! Excuse me while I go kick myself and desperately rectify this situation by shopping around for more pairs of colored denim. Do any of you have some favorite hues or brands I should check out?

With the month of October already upon us, I was incredibly happy to team up with HUDSON jeans for their October Breast Cancer Awareness campaign -- aiming to not only spread awareness but raise money to help find a cure.

As for the sign I'm holding above here? HUDSON asked myself and several other fellow bloggers to write out a declaration for something we "choose." I felt choosing to be proactive was not only fitting, but can make a world of a difference in detecting and treating the early signs of breast cancer. Make sure to give yourself regular exams and contact your doctor immediately if you notice any irregularities.

Remember my serendipitous shopping incident that I told you about last week with this trench? Well turns out, Kim of Eat.Sleep.Wear and I were channeling the same sartorial vibes as well not too long ago. Over some pretty late night Gchat conversations preparing our already over-stuffed suitcases for New York Fashion Week, we learned that we both have this same plaid suit from H&M (which was such a steal by the way -- under $50 for both pieces!). Of course, the play-it-by-the-rules girls inside of us said "You just can't wear the suit on the same day! That's fashion sin!"

But what did we do?

We wore it on the same day. And LOVED every minute of it!

Unfortunately, we didn't snap any photos together in our matching suits but a handful of other photographers did as we were heading in for the Tibi show. So if any of you guys see it floating around out there, please let me know! I would really appreciate it and so would Kim (who you can check out here, rocking her plaid suit as well!).
