I love pieces that pack a little extra styling punch. Take this jacket from St. John for instance. At first glance, it has the prim and proper panache of a little boucle jacket, perfect for work and general uptown outings. But after looking a bit closer, you'll notice the general fit of it is much more downtown -- the moto cut and hardware edge it up just enough to take you well past the look of "ladies who brunch" and more like "ladies who power brunch and kick ass while doing it."

I wore this particular look to the office earlier last week, but can easily see myself styling each individual piece quite differently -- either with distressed jeans or perhaps the pants with a little off the shoulder top action for a more playful date night look.
