Tahoe bound
This weekend was all about comfort -- broken in flared jeans, navajo print knit jacket, cable knit sweater -- I was ready for some serious lounging up at Tahoe. Much needed lounging might I add, after several weeks of running around in heels in New York City. Of course, this lady brought heels up to Tahoe, to which the store clerk at Safeway remarked, "Not from around here, are you?"
Ironically enough, I am from around here.
How was your weekend? Lots of good Oscar watching? Is it just me or was James Franco a little, er, boring (never thought I would say that). And how about that Kirk Douglas?
"You know..."
Jacket: Navajo print jacket, Topshop
Sweater: Cable knit sweater, Gap
Shirt: Button front chambray top, Gap
Jeans: Flared jeans, Urban Outfitters
Hat: Camel wide brim fedora, Topshop
Heels: Platform Dany heels, Jessica Simpson
I was feeling a bit "True Grit" in this outfit. Ya dig?

You look so cute and cozy! And I agree, James Franco was a total snore. However, I still adore him.
ReplyDeleteah, that JACKET! loove.
ReplyDeletehaha I was born, raised, and still live in Santa Cruz, and I don't think anyone assumes I'm a "local" because I don't exist in Uggs and hoodies ;)

.but i like it.
Love the entire outfit and the photos are spectacular. I'm kinda tired of snow at this point but it's still beautiful.
ReplyDeleteawesome- I love the jacket- and they go super well with the flared jeans.
ReplyDeleteJames Franco was clearly going for that whole "ironic sense of detachment bordering on contempt" that he and Jon Stewart previously discussed. :P I still love him, too. He and Zooey Deschanel and Natalie Portman, et al, are going to be fantastic in "Your Highness."
ReplyDeleteLove your outfit! And I wear heels in my hometown in NY and get the same strange looks at local stores. Oh, well!
I can't believe I've never commented on your blog since you're one of the first I ever started stalking! I mean that in the creepiest, most flattering way of course. However, the fact that we were BOTH frolicking in the multiple feet of snow in Tahoe this past weekend is too close to kismet to let it pass. Even creepier was the fact that our group of lady bloggers was talking about how you and Christina [second skin] met and how much we want to kidnap your entire wardrobe.. AND steal your luscious locks. So if your ears were burning.. it wasn't just from the frigid cold.
ReplyDeleteLove this outfit....I live in Tahoe and it's very inspiring to see you rocking a denim shirt under a sweater...good idea! I am so interested to see what stylish people wear in the snow! Love this post!
ReplyDeletelove, live & wear
