Jacket: Topshop (similar style here); Shirt: J. Crew (similar style here); Pants: c/o J. Brand via the Lucky FABB conference; Shoes: Charlotte Ronson; Sunglasses: Karen Walker; Bag: Lodis; Jewelry: J. Crew necklace, Michael Kors watch, H&M cuff
You all know I have a penchant for colored (and patterened) trousers (ok, borderline obsession) but surprisingly enough, until recently, I didn't own a single pair of colored denim. That's why I was exited to try out this J. Brand pair (via the Lucky Fabb conference back in September) and fell in love for two main reasons: 1.) the terra cotta color is reminiscent of pumpkin spice (always a win in my book and perfect for fall color pairings) and 2.) transitions nicely for more of a weekend vibe, more so than their trouser counterparts.
This got me thinking: I've been missing out this whole time! Excuse me while I go kick myself and desperately rectify this situation by shopping around for more pairs of colored denim. Do any of you have some favorite hues or brands I should check out?
Love the jacket!
ReplyDeleteI agree, very reminiscent of pumpkin spice, love the styling doll :)

J Brand is my favorite denim brand (10 pairs in my closet, actually), so I couldn't recommend a better pick. If you really are looking for something different, I've also heard that Current/Elliott make great colored denim.
ReplyDeleteI love this whole look- very theft-worthy :D
Cool outfit ;)
ReplyDeleteLoooove the color of these jeans! So perfect for fall! I have yet to try the colored denim trend, I have a hard enough time finding regular denim I feel good in, let alone emphasizing it with a bold color! HOWEVER, I have been quietly on the hunt for a pair in a pretty bordeaux/burgundy shade! Subtle, but still something different! You look gorgeous here, this whole outfit is awesome!
ReplyDeleteLove love LOVE the color of those jeans!!

Love the new jeans! They are a perfect fall color. I have two pairs of colored jeans and they are from F21, but I have to say give AG jeans a try because they are so soft and come in great colors.
ReplyDeleteYou love that bag! Not that that's a bad thing..I do too! ;)

I've been coveting the deep red jeans from j.brand. But after hunting samples in some bins at Levi's (where I work), I found these coral hued ones. They're super comfortable! See them here: http://thestylistadiaries.blogspot.com/2011/10/red-bricks.html

I'm sure it's been said, but blue! You need some blue jeans. Uh...you know what I mean haha I've also seen some mustard colored pairs that I've been lusting over. I myself have a bright pink pair and a nice deep red pair. Colored jeans are quickly becoming my favorite thing. Funny the way fall can bring new obsessions into your life.
