If you've read This Time Tomorrow for a while, you've probably come to notice that I'm not much of a flats kind of girl. It's not that I don't ever wear them, trust me, I have to with the hills in my neighborhood -- I just always feel much more put together and like myself, when I have a trusty pair of 4 inchers on (plus feeling taller never hurt anyone, right?). So when my coworkers suggested we try a fancy flats style challenge this week, I'll admit, I was a bit, well, stumped.
Until I remembered my smoking slippers that is! I scooped up these Steve Madden leopard smoking slippers right before I left for New York back in September so I'm glad they can finally make their overdue debut here on the blog. True to form, these flats are the unsung heroes of this blog (they've gotten me through some pretty rough times, namely weekend morning coffee runs when I don't want to dress up enough for their heeled counterparts).
Moral of the story? I think I may need to bring them out to play more often!
Oh, and don't forget to check out the always lovely Rebecca of Thirty-Five Inch Inseam, Meghan of Voila and Kellen of And So It Goes to see how they styled their fancy flats!
I'm rocking those same flats, now! They're just made for mixing with other prints. That J. Crew chain necklace is perfect, too!

The flats are absolutely stunning! You combined them really cute :)
ReplyDeleteThese flats pair nicely with your dress. I'm jealous you can get away with wearing a dress right now without tights. It's rather chilly in Virginia.

I love those smoking slippers, they're a classic silhouette in a modern pattern. I wish I could pull them off, but I dont think i'm preppy enough. Maybe i'll give them another go. I've always wanted to try them on!

ps, I wish I could wear four inch heels everyday but Im already 6 foot 1! My man friend says he doesn't mind "climbing" me to give me a smooch on the cheek but I mind! hahahaha.
Even in flats, you look AMAZING! Love the pattern mixing. The leopard and polka dots look fabulous together!

Krystal, I am exactly the same way. I only wear heels, but it totally affects my working out! I can't run for long distances after work because I'd been in 4-5 inchers everyday. I would LIKE to wear flats as much as I can, but it just doesn't suit my 5'0 stature :)
ReplyDeleteI adore your Zara dress!
ReplyDeletewith love,
your opinion is VERY important for me!http://chocarome.blogspot.com/
Love your flats! I've been wanting some smoking slippers, but I can't decide between a basic black or something more fun like yours!
