I know I don't typically stray from writing about fashion and lifestyle related topics here on This Time Tomorrow, but after watching this video last night, I felt compelled to share it with all of you. Please, if you have 30 minutes to spare today -- be it during your lunch break, in between meetings or perhaps right now while you finish your cup of coffee before work -- watch this video about violent guerilla group leader Joseph Kony and why he must be stopped. And if you can, I encourage you to share it.
For more information, including how you can get involved, visit the official Kony 2012 site here.
such a great video!

Take a look at the financial reports for Invisible Children before donating or supporting this cause. Although I agree that Kony needs to be stopped, I feel like Invisible Children is over-simplifying the problem, and I would also question their spending, with 8 million dollars going to support the Ugandan Army, which has also been known to rape and murder recklessly. I could be totally off base, but just be informed before you make a donation.
ReplyDeleteAh, even on your incredible clothing blog, you get skeptics! They're everywhere! Incredible. It's okay to question, but people are telling lies. Scary.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog, I love that you've posted about this. The person above me just pulled that stat out of their ass because IC has NEVER funded any government or militia. Ever. I worked in the finance department there for 8 months. I know.
Go visit their site and see their financials for yourself. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for what you do!
Those shoes are "sick"! Love the dress too :)
ReplyDeleteI love your yellow dress, you know how to accessorizes it perfectly!
ReplyDeleteI agree Kony needs to be stop and making people knowledgeable of the inhumane actions is a step.
