I often get asked what I wear for flights and I figured this 12-hour trek of ours would be the best time to answer it. Basically it boils down to a few essentials: a wrap around coat (a great blanket for when it gets chilly mid-flight), a pair of skinny jeans, a broken in tee and two pairs of shoes: flats and heels. The flats are the more practical choice for most of the flight but I like keeping the heels as a back up pair for when we land, in the event we can't check into our hotel room yet and I still want to look polished and put together.
I'm curious -- what do you normally wear for flights?

Love this outfit . I like the idea of having a back up pair of shoes. Its always cool to see how awsome some people dress when they travel. I normaly travel in jeans, layers and sneakers or boots.
ReplyDeleteLove this outfit! I normally rock the same...a good tee, jeans, quick slip off shoes and a pair of socks in my handbag. I can't allow my feet to touch the airport floors. ;-) Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteI've worn heels to the airport before and I still haven't lived it down! Usually I'm in dark or black skinny jeans and a comfortable top; tee, sweater and a scarf that will double as a blanket.

I always wear leggings (comfy), boots (warm and easy to slip on and off for security), and an oversize shirt or sweater (because leggings).

Yes! I'm always freezing on the plane and I need to be comfy in case I have to run to catch my connecting flight.
DeleteGreat outfit for traveling! I'm usually wearing converse and jeans when I'm on a long flight and heels if it's a short one:)

I like everything, except the high heels. I read once that one should never wear heels on an airplane, just in case the worst happens, which is generally during take-off or landing. You cannot safely navigate down the aisle in heels, and cannot wear them on the emergency chute. I think you would look just as put together in flats, and being prepared is always beautiful in my book. Thank you for your blog, and great style!
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit for flying. Have a safe and wonderful trip.

SO cute! Those jeans look comfy! :)

A maxi dress and a long, thick scarf. I've found that maxi dresses are way more comfy than jeans (or even sweats), and the scarf doubles as a blanket.

Oh I like your backup plan with the heels. I typically pull them out of my luggage. I might have to start packing them with me on my carry on. Have a safe trip!

I wear sweatpants or skinny jeans and a soft tee or long sleeve. I am really boring. I like the backup heels idea.

Lovely casual flight outfit! I most always wear flats, although for business trips I'll just wear heels the whole time and kick them off in the plane :)
ReplyDeleteA big scarf is my essential no matter where I'm going - use as a blanket and or pillow to keep comfy in the plane! :)

This outfit is ace. I never look as polished when I travel, although I do try. Sometimes I go even lower than flats and just put on tennis shoes. And then other times I got heeled booties. Oooh, I wish I had someone to take an airport photo of me.... :)
ReplyDeleteNIce and comfy look!

I wear something similiar, but instead of skinny jeans I usually wear a maxi skirt (super comfy!) I liked your tip of wearing flats but taking a pair of heels. It really gives out that jet setter vibe! xx
ReplyDeletesince we live in Sydney, most of our international flights are long haul flights - comfort is key...I love loose boyfriend jeans, tank tops and layered sweaters...I also like a large wrap incase it gets chilly and ballet flats. Once im in and settled, I take off my contact lenses, makeup and wear my glasses instead and lots of hydrating moisturiser too! I watch movies, snack, read...and it still feels like forever! haha..
