Barcelona bound

I'd like to think that I could roam around Barcelona in this outfit. Granted, I was in Barcelona once. But after a semester abroad full of traveling every weekend, it's expensive (and exhausting) to keep up with those chic Europeans. I'm thoroughly convinced there's something in their water that allows them to exude more style in their big toe than I have in my whole being. Including my hair. And I have a lot of hair on my head. If you haven't noticed.

With Barcelona in mind, I kind of ran with some inspiration from Penelope Cruz and her role in Woody Allen's "Vicky Cristina Barcelona." Sure, she played an eccentric, suicidal (not to mention homicidal) artsy bitch, but aren't we all sometimes?

I mean, nobody's perfect.

For the outfit, I wanted to focus on more of a romantic feel, thus the princess sleeves, the delicate detailing and of course the dangly jewelry, specifically the rosary (hello, Catholicism) and the red woven tear drop charm that just screams, "Take me to Spain!"

No, wait. Not scream. Perhaps whisper with a rich accent. Yes, that's what Penelope would do.

Blouse: Beige crocheted detailing top, Miss Me
Skirt: Black bandage skirt, Target
Boots: Vintage riding boots
Jewelry: Multiple vintage necklaces

  1. When I read your post and you said "rosary" I almost screamed "No"! I'm kinda morally apposed to wearing anything that symbolizes religion, more so if its a religion I'm not part of, but your "rosary" isn't really a "rosary" so its okay.
I approve...you can now breathe your sigh of relief. Lol!
You seem to do really well thrifting also. UGH! I wish I was more patient.

  5. Krystal, without a doubt my favorite outfit you've done on your blog thus far! It's got this really awesome romantic feel to it. A good getting ready for Spain outfit for sure! It's simple, but you did it so right. I love that you paired black and brown (I talk about how I love that on my blog all the time. It's a great combo!), and then romanticized it with the preciously girlie shirt, and finally, pulled it altogether with the rosary and red feather jewelry. It's pretty much perfection in my book!

  25. Thank you everyone!! You're all too kind! :) All your comments have made my day, you have no idea! @Mya the photos were actually taken right before sunset at an elementary school near my house of all places. Some kids rode their bikes past when I was finishing up and were very curious as to why I was wearing boots in the summertime. Ha.
