There is, floating out there in the Interwebs that we know as the World Wide Web, a photo of a gal that inspired this outfit, with a full, short black skirt, ankle boots and motorcycle jacket. The proportions of her outfit were just perfect. Only glitch is, I can't seem to find said photo for the life of me. And, of course, Google searching "woman in short, black skirt and ankle boots" only brings up porn-related sites and, needless to say, definitely NOT what I was looking for.
My apologies, lovelies, but you just have me to look at today.
On a side note though, after I reviewed these photos, I think we all can agree that these ankle boots NEED something. Studs perhaps? Any tips on doing that? I was just considering hot glue as these are not real suede shoes. (Awesome find at Payless!) But maybe I should really stud them? I'm a bit behind (OK, way behind) on this DIY trend and open to suggestions!
Shirt: Blue striped ruffle blouse, Gap
Skirt: Black button up full skirt (rolled up a tad), Gap
Boots: Black suede ankle boots, Payless
Belt: Vintage cream colored belt
Accessories: Random watch I found lying around our house, bracelet from Charlotte-Russe, glasses from Wet Seal
i LOVE this outfit! it's perfect for a friday at the office! the blouse is adorable and your hair looks amazing!
ReplyDeletei think you can definitely do the glue gun trick. i use it for DIY rings and it works perfectly fine. I have also used it for studding on my toss pillows and it's great!
good luck! <3.
Beautiful outfit, and I love those boots!
ReplyDeleteOooo nice shirt! As for the studs, check out the blog, I made a post (ironically today) on DIY studs for ballet shoes but boots sound great too!
ReplyDeleteHow comfy are the boots? I've never been a fan of payless since I always find my way towards thier hard and extremly uncomfy shoes. I blame it all on my size! lol
Definitely studs! They would look so cool if done right! Love your outfit, especially the shirt!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautifully put-together look. I love the ruffled shirt, and solid swaths of black. Truly lovely. As far as the boots go, another idea could be to find some really rad lace ribbon and hot glue it in sort of asymmetrical geometric patterns over the boots. Could be totally weird, could be sweet.
ReplyDeletelove the boots and the watch! <3
ReplyDeletewhat about on the heels kind of like this http://weardrobe.tumblr.com/post/152884160/from-the-cherry-blossom-girl ?

I LOVE this outfit, It is soooo cute I want to steal all of it!
ReplyDeletegreat outfit, i am especially loving the boots. i need to hit up payless apparently! as for studs, i'd use puncture studs rather than glue. i've seen some cute ones that are flat, or shaped like stars- a little different from the pyramid studs that are all over the place. you could also sew on little beads or a bunch of vintage buttons for a nice texture. hmm i feel many DIY ideas coming on...
ReplyDeletewhat a sexy little office nerd you are! haha :P
ReplyDeletethe high waisted skirt is awesome with the belt around it. love it.
