I hope I didn't hype this shirt up all too much, but ahem, (gracious various hand movements and bowing) I give you the Christian Dior shirt that I found for (brace yourselves) $10! It's the most unbelievable sea foam green silk shirt, so you can imagine my disappointment that these photos come no where near bringing it justice.
That said though, I am still utterly enamored with the item, will probably dote on it for the next few days and have already planned out more outfit play dates for it, most notable being a full white, high-waisted skirt for more of a "Mad Men" retro feel.
This particular outfit though was all about the shirt, hence a little on the simplistic side with skinny jeans and heels. Basically, I wanted the shirt to do all the talking, what can I say?
And in the meantime, my little Dior darling is hanging up next to my one and only Oscar de la Renta steal of a shirt ($7 from the same thrift store!) so they can be snooty designer clothes together, whispering Italian and French things. You know, basically making the rest of my wardrobe feel inferior.
Does anyone else do this? Anthropomorphize their clothes? Or is that me filling the void of imaginary friends of yesteryear?
I swear, I'm not crazy. I swear.
Shirt: Sea foam green silk vintage Christian Dior
Jeans: Skinny Levis
Shoes: Gladiator heels, Simply Vera
Sunglasses: Vintage 70s glam sunnies

ReplyDeleteLove the outfit. Those heels are amazing. And don’t worry I talk to everything! I just recently had an argument with my furniture since they did not want to cooperate with the redecorating of my bedroom. It's preposterous I tell you! Hum… that just made me sound a tad bit crazy. Lol.

ReplyDeleteYep...
ReplyDeleteI bought my first pair of sevens a few years ago. They were so perfect, but I bought them in the dead of summer and they were too heavy to wear, so instead of actually wearing them, I took them out and just let them hang in my room.
When I finally wore them, it rained....hard. And I was scared they would melt...dont know why.
Awesome shirt! Love the heels!!!

ReplyDeleteDon't you have all the luck!! Gee wiz! That's awesome. Thrift stores are the best thing to happen to fashion lovers. For obvious reasons. $10 dollar Dior? I mean HELLO!
ReplyDeleteThe bang hunt is going well! I have a definite idea of what I want and like and what I do not like. I recently moved and was thinking about going to someone new to do them, but I'm afraid I would regret that. So I have to wait til I go home to get my regular chick to do them. Maybe I'll bring your picture in and be like, "I want to look like Krystal!" haha
I love everything about this look its so understated but gorgeous..adore the clutch bag!x
ReplyDeleteTee hee. I do that with my clothes all the time. My dresses all get referred to as "she." Like, "Wouldn't she look great with this cute little scarf?" ;) And psst... I'm so jealous of all your killer vintage finds!
