snapped out of it

Apologies for the horribly emo post yesterday. I was in a funk (because we're human after all) and really appreciate the kind words you all had to offer. Sometimes, you just don't feel like facing the day and doing an outfit post, ya feel me? Of course you do.

That said, I was determined to put a smile on and I actually amazed myself while taking these photos today. Flashback several months ago to when This Time Tomorrow was still starting up and I was lurking for somewhat deserted areas to take outfit photos, afraid someone would see and consequently judge/laugh/point/cat call. While I'm sure I still get judged, laughed and pointed at and god knows, there will always be some dude to cat call you, today I took up the sidewalk (moving out of the way of course for people passing by), with no concern for what others thought.

Oh, how I love little triumphs.

Oh, and how I'm loving my nude tones lately. Breath of fresh air, if you ask me.

Happy Tuesday!

  2. I think I could perhaps get over the fear of other people seeing me when I take outfit photos if I had a real photographer. Somehow using a tripod just looks a little self absorbed and sketchy when in public :P

  8. Welcome back girl and I hear you. I am still a beginner so there is still so much concern in me about those catcalls, laughs or god knows what else from people on the street. I try as much as I can to ignore and your post is such an inspiration.

Also sometimes forget taking outfit photos I don't even feel like putting on a decent outfit.

So glad to have you back.

  17. OMG! I am an avid follower of your blog, but I have never commented. Today, however, I felt the need to give you kudos in writing. This outfit is such a departure from your norm, and you are rockin' it the new silhouette.

  21. Haha, I was in a funk yesterday too. AND I'm totally with you on the whole not caring if people see me doing outfit photos anymore. It's funny how that self consciousness just kind of fades away.

  34. A happy triumph indeed. I think we could all take a little inspiration from you on this one.

From the attitude and confidence of taking shots to the wide leg jean...thank god it's not another pair of skinnys. DGMW, I wear a skinny jean, just nice to see something different. LOVE IT!

  37. That's great that you were able to take photos undisturbed. Your outfit is so modern 70s (at the risk of that sounding contradictory). Girl, that Halston hat was MADE for you! I love everytime you wear it!

  38. This is a really great look! So classic and chic. did you take these photos by yourself?! That is a triumph! I would never be so brave.

  39. I really like your style.
I cannot believe you got this purse at Old Navy, I absolutely adore it. Did you get it a long time ago ? Is it still in stores ?

  40. wow, this might be one of my all-time favorite outfits of yours! I don't have the balls to wear something like this, but this is seriously nice!

love that you look so happy too! :)

  41. I do the same! I'm not sure why I feel the need to go somewhere unpopulated if I don't have someone taking photos for me. In NYC, what are the chances I'll see any of them again? What are the chances of having a bomb-ass photo that's way better than what I could take in my living room? Inspired. You rock, as always, girl.
