three zero

So folks, I'm a little over a month away from my 30th birthday and I'm currently contemplating what the heck it is that I want to do for the big day. I've had several close friends ask me if I want a party, an all night dance-a-thon, or maybe even a little getaway trip. And while I would find it hard to turn down a penthouse suite if it landed in my lap (alongside the winning ticket for today's $1.4 billion PowerBall lottery), I would much rather find myself at an intimate, cozy dinner with my nearest and dearest friends, a small enough group where no one has to yell to be heard and where I can easily make eye contact with everyone at the table. Oh, and some AMAZING food, wouldn't hurt either. This is where I need your help, New Yorkers, do you have any restaurant recs for me? Right now, I'm working off this list, but I'm open to suggestions!

And for all my 30 and above crowd -- how did you celebrate the day?

  12. I turned 30 in 2001. I had a dinner out with a few close friends and it was great. Although, you might want to do the all-night dance party because on your 40th, your hips and knees will not forgive you. So maybe save the quiet dinner out for 2026. x

  13. I was fortunate enough to head to St. Tropez for my 30th birthday with a small group of friends. It was AMAZING and I highly recommend a mini getaway that you'll never forget. You only turn 30 once hope you make a splash xx!

  14. Spent my 30th with 6 close friends @ Brooklyn Bowl! It was a whole lot of fun, nothing high-brow. Great food, whiskey, beer, bowling, live music AND a DJ at midnight that involved a dance contest. My friends, of course, made me enter... it was old-school in which they tacked numbers on your back and you went to town. I made an ass out of myself and had a freaking blast. Before Brooklyn Bowl, oysters & drinks @ Maison Premiere. I recommend both places! Hope that you have a most fabulous 30th! Love those heels, btw.
