come one, come all!

Above Instagram shots via Ruby Press

To my dear shoe-aficionado readers (which I assume is most of you!) -- would love it if you joined me and my two other lovely co-hosts Erica of Honestly...WTF and Anne Sage of Rue Magazine and City Sage next Wednesday April 4, as we ring in the opening of Convert shoe store out in Berkeley!

We'll be sipping cocktails, shaking some Polaroid pictures and, of course, doing some serious shoe-oggling. All in all, good times will be had!

Hope to see some of you there! And in the meantime, stay tuned for an outfit post later this morning...

UPDATE: If you're in the Bay Area and planning to attend (which I really hope you are!) please make sure to RSVP by either calling (510) 540-0209 or by emailing rsvp@rubypr.com. There will be an invite list at the door, so it's important to get your name on there!

the lab event: a giveaway!

Ah, back to work today after a relaxing, much needed break! But in the spirit of giving (hey, the spirit can live on after Christmas, right? Well it should!), I have a lovely little giveaway for you! As some of you may have overheard me say on Twitter, I'll be walking the runway alongside some of my favorite bloggers (pictured in the sneak peek Instragram shots above) at The Lab Event, a unique kind of bridal fair featuring only the best, trend-setting wedding industry professionals from Northern California.

The Big Day, ahem, the event will be held on January 14 in Sonoma at the beautiful Cline Cellars winery and I have three, yes, three tickets for you! Getting married soon? Maid of Honor duties sneaking up on you? Or perhaps you just have a thing for pretty dresses? Well here's how to win:

2.) Leave a comment below describing your favorite wedding memory (can be your own wedding or one you attended).
3.) I'll be drawing a winner at random on Tuesday, January 10, so make sure to check back!

Good luck, ladies!

Style Rules with Rachel Zoe

If you follow me on Twitter, you may have seen a few tweets going back and forth alluding to a certain Rachel Zoe video. Well, no April Fool's joke here -- just a couple of short weeks ago, my good friend Heather of Heather in a Candy Shop and I were chosen to compete in Rachel Zoe's Style Rules competition, presented by LG Marquee.

The concept was simple -- a styling challenge to be completed under 90 minutes, with a budget of $200. But when you have a film crew following you as you frantically run around San Francisco in heels, trying to abide by Rachel's styling criteria AND worry if you have lipstick on your teeth -- the challenge was anything but simple!

All in all though, I had a blast hanging with an amazing film crew, getting to chat with Rachel Zoe (!!!) a few times on the phone and, of course, goofing around with Heather! Enough of me blabbing away though, right? On to the show! Hope you enjoy the video!

bloglovin'

You guys don't need me to tell you that there are a lot of great blogs out there. A lot. And many more that get unsurfaced every day (such is the beauty of the internet, no? Inspiration abounds!). But how to organize it without overloading my bookmark bar and inevitably crashing my computer?  (True story, actually.)

Cue Bloglovin'.

Bloglovin', which you guys undoubtedly don't need me to tell you about it, is a great way to keep track of and read all your favorite blogs in one central place. Added bonus: you only receive updates when something new is posted, thereby taking a lot of the guesswork out of checking blogs on a daily basis. What I really love though? If you're ever feeling a bit lacking in the inspiration department, it's perfect for finding and sourcing new blogs to follow (like this gem I found just last week!)

Want to know more? Simply watch the video above or you can start following my blog on Bloglovin' here. Hope to see you guys on there!

What I Wore takes on San Fran!

On me: Top: Zara; Pants: H&M; Shoes: Jessica Simpson Dany platforms; Michael Kors watch
On Jessica: Dress: Kate Spade; Shoes: Coach

Last night, a few coworkers and I swung by the book signing party for Jessica Quirk of What I Wore and her new, namesake style manual, What I Wore, Four Seasons, One Closet, Endless Recipes for Personal Style. (Psstt...if you haven't yet, you can pick up a copy here.)

The event itself was beautiful -- always great seeing my stylish San Franciscan ladies out and about, and of course, getting to catch up with Jessica was wonderful. Having gotten to know Jessica since the early days of when I was starting out with my blog, she's always been so supportive, genuine and just downright positive! I couldn't be happier (or more proud) of her and her new book launch! Brava, Jessica, brava!

pitter patter

Nude Lanvin sandals, on sale at Neiman Marcus

My new nude Lanvin sandals make my heart go pitter patter a little. The fact they were extremely on sale and will prove to be quite the champion shoe (read: I'll be wearing these pups with a lot) I think we'll be getting along just fine this summer. Yes, just fine indeed.

On an unrelated note, congrats again to the ladies behind Glitter Guide! The site itself is beautiful (if you haven't checked it out yet, do so here) and the launch party at Luna Boutique in SF last night was a blast.  Had a chance to meet so many lovely ladies while sipping champagne and casually shopping. Can a Wednesday night get any better? I think not!

9 to 5 Style

Remember this lovely girl? This, folks, is my darling friend and coworker, Meghan (she also has an equally darling blog, Voila, which you should promptly go visit)! We just wrapped up a big post on bspoke, featuring all of Meghan's outfits from last week -- a working girl's wardrobe so to speak. I can't tell you how refreshing it was for her and I to escape the office for a little bit and romp around San Francisco -- I photographing up a storm and she cruising around on a bike in style.

Want to see more of her outfits? Check 'em out here!

Sneak Peek: 9 to 5 style

Photobucket

Just a little teaser for a photo shoot that I did with my lovely friend and coworker, Meghan of Voila. We had probably too much fun galavanting around San Francisco documenting her outfits throughout the week. Want more? Be sure to check out bspoke early next week (Tuesday to be exact) when we reveal her 9 to 5 style.

Outfit pictures to come later today, stay tuned!

Get your swap on!

As I'll be hitting the beach in San Diego over the next few days, I thought I would share this lovely event in my absence. The folks from Lulu's and Swapaholics are tempting my already bursting closet with one of their sure-to-be-a-pleaser swaps, right in the heart of San Francisco. Tickets are normally $20, but if it suits your fancy, use the code: TOMORROW to get 25% off your ticket price. (C'mon, I know that suits your fancy!) Plus, all those who use the hashtag #swaplulus will be entered to win Lulus.com gift cards!

And that, makes for a happy Thursday, no?

Now time to hit the sand! See ya!
