ModCloth Spring Fever Blogger Challenge, Week #4

Photobucket

This Composition VII hat from ModCloth is just too darling, I felt like I was about to run off to church in this get up, wearing my finest white linen dress with a lady like trench coat. Of course, the t-strap heels helped in the overall daintiness of the outfit and while I'm not quite sure the hat will be a keeper in my rotation of go-to head adornments, I loved how Jackie O it all felt.

As you've already probably guessed, this is the last installment of the ModCloth Spring Fever Blogger Challenge and I absolutely love how the other girls styled up this hat. Do scurry over and check them out.

Just spent a lovely weekend feeling like a San Franciscan. Cruised around the panhandle and settled on taking a nap in Duboce Park, had an awesome tuna melt at a diner, walked across the Golden Gate (which I've never done before!) and bundled up in light layers for the winds that inevitably picked up at the beach.

I feel completely relaxed.

On another note, today marks This Time Tomorrow's one year birthday! Exactly a year ago today, I was muddling my way through Blogspot, trying to figure out what I was going to blog about and generally wondering if anyone out there (besides my parents) would ever read this. So much has happened and changed since then and I can't believe sometimes how quickly it has all gone by. I've been lucky enough to do some pretty incredible things because of this blog and I have you, dear readers, to thank for it.

With that said, thank you. Seriously. I wouldn't have been able to do it without you.

sunshine drug

Man, could I be any more smile-happy in these photos? I blame the sunny California weather and it's darn persuasive ways, tempting me to go outside and not be productive.

As for the outfit, there's something to be said about wearing an uber girly dress with a full skirt and cute pattern with edgier heels. The contrast makes me feel like a Zooey Deschanel hybrid with a dash of edgy, rocker chick (I couldn't think of a celebrity that fit in this analogy. Any ideas?)

Happy Thursday, everyone!

DIY turban

Photobucket

I'm a sucker for taking floral printed scarves and wearing them with stripes. There. I said it.

Call it a guilty pleasure, easy fall back or just plain, uninspired laziness, I can't help it. That's why, when ModCloth sent me this Paisley Panache Scarf, I literally had to restrain the initial urge to resort to my go-to. Granted, I still wore the stripes, but I like to think that my little DIY head turban idea was a small window of breaking my habit.

Baby steps, people, baby steps.

This of course marks the third installment of the Spring Fever Blogger Challenge, which admittedly, I have been wayyyyy behind on. I'm up against some stiff competition, though, so I feel pretty honored to even be included in the bunch. Of course, if you'd like, (I know I would like it) you can vote here for your favorite look.

On a much more general note, posting should be getting back to normal over the next couple of days. I claim temporary insanity, i.e. lack of sleep and too many nights on an air mattress. Speaking of which, yours truly now has an actual bed as the Ikea gods were kind to me the other day.

But the real thanks goes to Dan, who was a good sport after finding out the box spring didn't quite fit into the elevator and pretty much heaved the thing up five flights of stairs. (I pushed and guided as much as wearing a skirt and heels would allow. Thanks Dan!)

70s chick/ikea trip

Photobucket

It was hard not to channel some sort of 70s TV maven in this outfit, with the wide leg trouser jeans, looser fitting top and some serious clogs. About these jeans though, I think I found my new favorite cut to start replacing my collection of skinnies. There's something to be said about a wide leg cut with a pair of heels -- instantly taller/slimmer not to mention it's a nice change of pace and gives me some time to wash the already worn too thin skinnies.

I'll have apartment pictures hopefully sometime this weekend. But first, I have to go to IKEA and pick up a bed. Somehow the air mattress I've been sleeping on the past few weeks doesn't do my apartment justice.

And while we're on the subject of IKEA, is it all too corny and disgustingly cute to admit that I kind of want to play the IKEA game? Because I do. Any takers?

ModCloth Spring Fever Blogger Challenge, Week #2

Here in all it's glory, I have the second week's installment of the ModCloth Spring Fever Blogger Challenge, with none other than this darling Na-Na-Nineties Dress. Since the dress itself is pretty feminine with the cute, bubble skirt and pastel colors, I paired some darker accessories with it, namely the wide brim Belfry Ella hat from Hats in the Belfry.

The other girls naturally killed it in this dress, although it's interesting to see just how similarly we styled it up. That's the fun thing about these remix challenges for me. I tend to focus more on the similarities between the outfits, not the differences, to see what worked basically.

Of course, if you feel so inclined, you can go here and go for your favorite look.

view from a sunday

In stark contrast to the other day's field of yellow flowers, today's a bit rainy and gray. And in all honesty, I kind of prefer days like this. Gives you an excuse to stay inside, make some cookies, eat some soup and leisurely watch movies (while simultaneously working at the same time). And that is exactly what I intend to do today.

I know I promised an apartment post, but this view from my (bay!) windows will have to do in the interim as I'm STILL organizing the closet.

Hope you're all having a relaxing Sunday!

Hey guys! Yes, I am alive. Alive and well, albeit a bit sleep deprived from moving at odd hours of the night.

To make up for my absence, I do have some exciting news to share. ModCloth has launched a Spring Fever Blogger Challenge and yours truly has been invited to join. Each Monday of this month, I'll be posting a different item from their new Spring collection to be showcased alongside some other lovely ladies (Oh hey, Keiko, Tieka, Aya!) on the ModCloth blog with you readers to vote on your favorite of the four!

And to kick things off, I give you this darling Ivory Symphony Skirt, tiered and everything! I wanted to play with the proportions of the mini skirt and wear a looser fitting kick-back sweater and some cage heels, which ending up being perfect for a slightly overcast day in the Bay Area.

Want to vote? Want to check out the other ladies? Want me to stop asking rhetorical questions? OK, fine, fine, but before I go, if you want to vote for your favorite look, go here.
