what a whirl

It's always so crazy to me to meet bloggers in real life. It's as if I know this person, on the other side of the computer screen is a living, breathing, functioning member of society somewhere in the world, just not MY world.

Cue my story from earlier this week.

I was hurring, no scratch that, busting my ass to run up Hayes to catch the bus to work. What kind of sick idiot wears platform clogs to run to the bus? Oh right, this sick idiot. With only 5 minutes to get there and extremely short of breath from both running and cursing myself for being so out of shape, I heard someone randomly call my name out from the street as they were driving by.

Rachael, a sweet reader of this little ol' blog of mine, was waving out the window, yelling. Talk about a wake up call for me! First of all, thank you for saying hi. And secondly, thank you for the ride to the bus. It was much appreciated! And surreal at the same time.

Any fun stories you guys have about meeting bloggers IRL? Would love to hear them!

  8. Love the combo! The softness of the top paired with the rigid metalic material of the skirt is just great! Great pairing!

  14. so funny, I had a very similar moment: I was sprinting to catch the last train out of North Station in Boston on a Friday night, I almost missed it but made it in the nick of time as the last person onboard, I looked like an awful, sweaty mess by the time I got to the train. I walked through a bunch of train cars and collapsed into a seat nearly having a heart attack when the girl in the seat in front of me turned around and said "you're Julie, right? I love your blog!" it was so sweet but also so embarrassing!

  17. Haha! I blogged about poop today, THEN checked out your blog and realized what people are going to see if they go to my site. Lovely.
Anyways, speaking of lovely in NOT sarcastic terms, it was lovely meeting you and this outfit is lovely as well. Maybe 'kickass' is a better word for it though because it's professional meets smokin' which is an awesome combo.

I hope to run into you again someday!

  19. Cute story! Yes I have this happen to me sometimes... on a much smaller scale though. I live in a fairly small area where I work at F21. Several of my customers stop and tell me they read my blog. I love meeting readers but at the same time I feel my face turn a bit red... these people know a lot about me.

Always love your blog... you never let me down!
